Use of Information
Identify the information you will use, and take notes. Also determine which sources contain very general — or background — information, and which contain more specific — or subtopic — information.

If your task is to explain or analyze the most recent findings about a topic, you can choose the latest news articles rather than an archive or the encyclopedia. Read through your sources, take notes, and cite your sources so you can easily go back to them if you need more information.

You can use the BritannicaSchool Note-taking tool to keep track of relevant information while you are working online, and save your notes to your Workspace.
