Girl Scouts—Arizona Cactus-Pine Council, Web Presence Manager
December 2008 to April 2010
- Migrated Girl Scout website from outdated, inflexible, and expensive content management system to a content management system which gives the Council full control of our websites, website content, and the display method of our URL strings. We also moved to a more cost-effective hosting solution. Overall these changes reduced overhead by almost $2,000 per month.
- Redesigned and redeveloped the council's website which improved our site's usability and functionality and increased its visibility on the search engines. The council's site traffic increased by 38%, page views by 59%, and time on site by 44%. Traffic from Google SERPs for February 2010 is up 109% over the same period in 2009 and traffic from Yahoo SERPs is up over 23%.
- Increased online sales by over 70%.
- Incorporated the ability to receive online donations and allow site visitors to register and pay for Girl Scout sponsored events.
- Developed and managed a new Girl Scout program to educate girls on website design and development processes and provide them with the resources to begin designing and developing a site which they will own and maintain under the Council's direction.
